Spirits

In the mid-19th century, “spirits” would appear in images because of the unknown medium of photography. Camera shakes and light leaks would create ghostly figures in photos. But were these skepticism’s due the lack of knowledge or as a way of preserving history. A way for the living to hold onto the deceased, believing what they want to see in these mistaken images. These tragic events are being remembered through storytelling, through the haunting of spirits. It makes me question what does haunting mean? Are these past spirits haunting us in the present, or are we being haunted by the horrible acts of the past?
